Uri Bar-On was born in the United States in 1975. He grew up, lives and creates in Tel Aviv. He has undergraduate degrees from the University of Tel Aviv in Literature and Business Management. He finished graduate studies in the Department of Cinema and Television at the University of Tel Aviv. Since 2002 has been active in the Israeli television and film industry as a director and screenwriter. Created two long documentaries “King Lati the first” and “52/50” both financed by Israeli TV channels. Created six short films:"72 Virgins", "A Kiss is a Kiss is a Kiss", "A Different Love song" and 3 shorts for the french-German channel Arte within the "missing scene" format- "The haircut", 'The saver" and "The boss". Directed sketches and segments for: Israel Channel 10 - Gidi Gov's War Show. "Reshet" – Israel Channel 2 - "Addictive Game". YTV - "The Guide to Falling in Love". Special "Children's Choice" for the Children's Channel (Israel). "The Family Has Been Notified" – documentary project, 50 minutes long, about Memorial Day for Satellite Broadcasting. Writes and directs commercial films for Israeli and international companies such as Microsoft, Philip Morris, El-Al and more. Since 2007 writing about cinema for the Israeli site Walla.
In 2008 he was one of the main scriptwriters of more then 25 Episodes of the Israeli soap "Haalufa", and wrote a script for a film by Lavi Ben gal in the production of Amir Harel-Lama films. Currently writing scripts for 2 fiction films- “Franny and I” that got development fund from Makor fund and “Center of the lost kingdom”, and developing other fiction films and documentaries.
